Back in time . . .
Newly discovered photos from the 1964 Autodromo Peragusa race in Sicily. Many thanks to Jeremy Woods, owner of #210, the full race Italia and Mario Sgro.
Mario Sgro, president of the circuit, has personally invited #210 to take part in the 2024 Coppa Di Enna. It will celebrate 60 years since an Italia took part in the race. Mario is also a Triumph enthusiast and owner.
Many thanks to Mario Sgro for granting permission for the photos. To find out more about the race, please visit their site. And thanks to Jeremy for recent photos of #210 at the Goodwood Members Spring Sprint.
The Ludvigson Collection at The Revs Institute
Tyrone Stoner has found almost 50 photos of the Italia. These include some of Italia #3 at the 1959 Turin Show. The Ludvigson Collection at The Revs Institute for Automotive Research has hundreds of photos taken by Edward Eves in 1959. Within this collection are never before seen images of the Italia, Dr. Ruffino and a Great Dane!
The Italia in the photos below is in Valentino Park near where the Motor Show was being held. Based on the date of the show, this should be between Italia #4 to #7.
I have purchased the rights to show 5 of the photos from the collection here. The Revs Institute charges per photo for web use. If you'd like to see more, please consider making a donation to this site.

Photos from the Trofeo Lumezzane hill climb which took place on Sunday, September 3rd, 1961 at the Coppa R. Cantoni. Driving the Italia was Masillio Bonomi, a well-respected race driver who campaigned a number of cars in the Fifties and Sixties.
The Italia did quite well, coming fifth in class (over 1300cc) behind four Ferraris. The Italia was 38th overall about one minute behind the race leading Ferrari.
The Bonomi family has strong ties to racing in Brescia and in the Mille Miglia.
Many thanks to www.sarezzolumezzane.it for granting permission to include their photos. To find out more about the race, please visit their site. And special thanks to Tyrone Stoner for originally locating the photos for us.
Donations will help to purchase the rights
to more of these rare photos.
